'New Arrival' and 'Coming Soon' Product Management
 

Hi all!

I'm a newbie in XCart and I want to manage all products under 'New Arrival' or 'Coming Soon' category. I've tried the Product Advisor module but there was no way to manually manage it, just only settings.

I just want to view all products by category and I can be able to mark each product whether it is new arrival OR coming soon.

Is there any other module to implement this? Or does it need XCart Customization? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! Welcome to the forums. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.

Do you want to setup 2 categories named New Arrivals and Coming Soon?

Or are you wanting to not use categories and just use new arrivals and coming soon?

Or are you asking how to designate products as new arrivals, and how to designate others as coming soon?

To designate a product as coming soon, simply set the arrival date into the future. To mark a product as a new arrival, set the arrival date to a recent time within the allowed settings of the Product Advisor module. These products are sorted by date, not position.

I've already tried that one in Product Advisor Module. But I want an administration tab or page for managing new arrivals and coming soon products. I'm thinking like this format in admin page:

New Arrival Products Tab
(Mark the product you want to tag as 'New Arrival')

- Clothes Category
- Product 1 (New)
- Product 2
- Product 3 (New)
- Product 4
- Product 5

- Toys Category
- Product 1
- Product 2 (New)
- Product 3 (New)
- Product 4
- Product 5

========================================

Coming Soon Products Tab
(Mark the product you want to tag as 'Coming Soon')

- Clothes Category
- Product 1 (Coming Soon)
- Product 2 (Coming Soon)
- Product 3
- Product 4 (Coming Soon)

In this case, I can easily mark or unmark a particular product for new arrival and coming soon tab . Is there any other module that could implement this?

That would be nice, but it is not available that I know of. No such module exists. I think you might have to rethink your strategy, or you could hire a developer to build this functionality.

Also you may use the http://ideas.x-cart.com/ system to suggest and vote for improvements to X-Cart.
The XC5 teams consider the number of votes when choosing features for future X-Cart versions.

Maybe for now, I'll try to explore the XCart's functionality and create this module in the future.
