Blog based on X-cart
 

I am designing a blog based on x-cart, using one of x-cart's category:

here I use a root category named: blog
and i have added 3 subcategories as blog categories:
https://www.selectspecs.net/eye-health/
https://www.selectspecs.net/eye-safety/
https://www.selectspecs.net/eyeglass-fashion-trends/

which is better, using x-cart based blog vs wordpress based blog? i think wordpress based blog is more powerful, and many hand ready plugins, but it is really very unsafe, we have to update the wordpress in time. If we use x-cart based blog, we have to modify many places, and we have to add many functions.

XC is not a blog platform. It is a shopping cart platform. use the right tool for the job. If you are building blog XC is not suitable for this

You can. Laravel is PHP framework not specific use-case platform You can do anything with it. But yes it has to be developed.

It has evolved in many stages. the latest releases has "auto upgrade turned on" by default. It does takes care of things automatically.

Now, there are many special hosting providers there that costs 30$ to 50$ annually. Host it like https://blog.yourwebsite.com. It is managed hosting services as well. Your security is taken care of.

Right, wordpress can update automatically, but we still have to update plugins and themes (3rd party themes) manually. at present, i have to set all themes files to 644, and .htaccess to 444, i also rename wp-admin to other name, i also remove post author, and disallow anybody to write reviews.


we have to agree wordpress is really powerful at the same time. we do anything we want. i began to use wordpress in 2007, i have used it over 10 years!
