$lng.txt_welcome does not exist!
 

ok, so i go to change my welcome message in languages, and it doesn't even exist. the message shows up on my store front, but in admin, under languages/text, it doesn't show up. this is the second time something screwy has happened to my welcome message! :evil: i need some valium.

ok, i'm stupid, but this thing is even...stupider. the welcome message is under labels, which makes no sense.

That is odd. In my 3.5.5 version it's in text, in a 3.5.7 pro version it's in the text area too.

In text area in 3.4.6 and 3.5.9 Gold versions

It should be in the text area. Use the "filter" to search for it. There are so many things listed there that sometimes it's hard to find. There is a label for the welcome screen as well so I guess you could put your message there as well and be fine. Whatever works I guess.

There are supposed to be 3 welcome messages, 2 are labels, the other is text.

The labels appear as a bold title and the text is what goes underneath.

They should be as follows:

Variable: lbl_welcome_back
Description: up to you
Value: Welcome back

Variable: lbl_welcome_to
Description: up to you
Value: Welcome to

The text one should read as follows:

Variable: txt_welcome
Description: up to you, again
Value: This is also up to you... Once installed, X-Cart reads "this is a demo store...." but you can change this to your own text or if you feel a bit more savvy, you can input html to display whatever you want.
Remember, whatever you do put in this field will appear directly above your featured products on the welcome page so if you want to add links to some special offers or whatever, it's a good place to do it.
