Phil,
Wow. Very cool. I do suggest a second icon for closing the menu, perhaps underneath the last entry of the expanded category menu. It's not immediately intuitive how to close it. I also suggest that a click anywhere on the main page could close the menu. Perhaps an option for that behavior.

I would like to see a demo with ideal responsive or any other responsive template. just to test it on mobile, curious as to how it would act.

Really slick, great idea and simple implementation. Love it.

Hi Mike, I've just added a 'close menu' link to the menu itself.

I will also test on the Ideal Responsive skin and let you know.

Looks perfect. I had thought an icon would work, but the close link is great, it keeps the flow.
