Notifications on Products/Category

Is there a way to sign up for notifications for new Search results or if a new product gets posted within a category?

I'm asking is there a module already made for that. Say someone was waiting for just the write product to become available in a category and wanted to know when the seller posted new products to that category or when search results changed?
