The first release candidate of LiteCommerce 3 ("X-Cart 5 Lite") is out!

Hi!

I would like to announce that the first release candidate of LiteCommerce 3 has been released.

Although there are still known issues that we are working on, it is ready for wider testing by the community. If you find a bug or a glitch, please report it.

In this version you can test how modules are installed from our Module Marketplace server: get into the LiteCommerce 3 back-end, open the "Add-ons" tab in the top menu and select "Module Marketplace". The page will list modules registed on our Module Marketplace server and you can install the modules you need directly from this page.

Useful links:
- Installation instructions
- Troubleshooting guide
- Tutorial for developers (incomplete, is being written)

Thanks!

I have been trying to get this up and running on xampp. I'm really not sure how this can be described as a release candidate.

The latest version on Github (RC2) is using ver7.4 of drupal and appears to have many bugfixes in it. Unfortunately the install instructions contain at least one error

cp xlite/src/etc/config.php xlite/src/etc/config.local.php

I think should read

cp xlite/src/etc/config.default.php xlite/src/etc/config.local.php

I think there may be an error regarding the database population instructions too. The data is incomplete and the prefix for the tables is incorrect.

How long before RC2 is released? I am sure there are many others that want to get going with this as soon as possible.

Thank you for pointing out the problem! The published instructions are for the RC1 version. In the RC2 version there will be 3 files loaded as follows:
1. config.default.php - default LC3 settings (should never be edited manually; will be updated by the auto-upgrade script when needed so that new options are correctly populated to existing installations)
2. config.php - settings for the "live" installation (will never be touched during upgrade)
3. config.local.php - settings for a local test copy of the "live" installation (won't be touched by the upgrade script too)

So, yes, when deploying the RC2 version from GitHub, the command should be either cp xlite/src/etc/config.default.php xlite/src/etc/config.local.php or cp xlite/src/etc/config.default.php xlite/src/etc/config.php

It has been released a couple of hours ago. :-)

I will annonce it a little bit later (after writing instructions on testing the auto-upgrade feature; due to an RC1 bug resulted into the above fix with 3 configuration files this RC1->RC2 upgrade requires instructions :-) ).

Thanks!

Petrov,

Thanks just downloaded RC2 and it installed cleanly on xammp. All menu options on Drupal now appear to work consistently.:D/

I have one question regarding add on modules. Will this only work from a hosted site or should it work from Xampp, Wamp etc ?

Maybe I'm just missing something as all I get is a white page.:?

Anthony

Anthony,

It should work on local computers too. Please report the problem at http://bt.litecommerce.com/ and we will check into this.

Thanks!

Do you want every bug reporting? For example when I look through the bug reports they are mostly security issues reported by the dev team, I don't see many of the obvious bugs like changing currency through the checkout process!

I have this working well on Wamp now but finding numerous issues. Nothing to bad though.

There is no changing currency in LC3.

If you set to UK pounds it changes to dollars in checkout. It has pounds at the top of the email invoice but dollars at the bottom.

That what I was talking about.

I'll post them all in tonight when i get a chance.

A Quick question regarding search.

Assuming you install drupal and LC3 together.

Am I correct in assuming the widget search completely replaces the default search module supplied with the drupal installation?

If this is the case is it possible to install the Drupal search Module and have a different search for blogs/articles. Assuming the search is in the Head section by selecting different head sections?

Or to uncomplicate:lol: things, extend the search widget to search all documents?
