Protx Integration

Details of the protx integration should be in your personal file area.

If it is not there then if you use the message board at https://www.x-cart.com/wmembers.php the kind people at x-cart will put it there for you.

Please note that as far as I am aware that this is tested in 3.3.x versions.

Hi Funkydunk

Protx have advised us that the protx file will only work on 3.3.3
as we are currently using 3.3.1, x-cart advised us to upgrade to 3.3.3
in order to use the the file supplied.

funkydunk 03-11-2003 05:49 AM

protx are talking rubbish - i've got this working on a 3.3.1 version.

sorry

i meant x-cart support, but i will take your word for it, at least i dont have to spend more time upgrading to 3.3.3, and can get the payment gateway sorted.

many thanks.

3.3.1

The Protx integration was initially created for my 3.3.1 installation (a paid for modification) at www.martial-art-shop.com.
It was ordered and paid for in January but it has only just been completed as a fully working add on as there were many errors with it to begin with, it does however now work fully, passing all the relavent information accross with it ie. customers address, email, postcode and cart contents, it also passes back the transaction details to be stored with the order and because the email and postcode are present it generates an email to the shop owner and customer with the transaction details and the CV2 information can be checked (better security)
For those of you that don't know the Protx system, it is better than most "Form" payment methods as it encrypts the information before it is sent, as weel as using SSL of course.
It is also a lot cheaper (you need your own merchant account) at 5 pence per transaction and no monthly charges, it's got to be the best out there

Agree with that Teejay - I am looking to swap over to them from Worldpay....much less.

Bit of a fussy integration though!

Have you been able to customise the look and feel of the payment pages at Protx end?

TeeJay 03-12-2003 04:45 AM

Hi funkydunk

I've not yet taylored the checkout pages (i'm trying to do too much with too little time, I have 2 large ecommerce systems being tweeked and taylored at the same time along with php being upgraded everywhere causing problems), but the people at Protx are very helpfull and I don't see that it would be a problem

Hi

Does anyone know if the protx file supplied will also work with VSP direct, instead of VSP Form.

Thanks

funkydunk 03-12-2003 05:21 AM

No it wont - that is more of a server to server authentication thing.

Question on protx,

I haven't added a payment gateway yet to x-cart I was wondering what happens when one is added with regards to Switch/solo etc

Are these taken automatically by the protx interface? I ask as the default credit card set up in x-cart does not support debit cards and I was wondering how most UK based x-carts go around this so far?

i.e when a payment gateway is added where does the user input their credit card/debit card details in relation to their delivery details?

Thanks

Groovico
