Prevent international shipping for selected products
 

I am adding new products to my cart that I am unable to ship Internationally. All of the other products we can and do ship internationally. At this time I have 4 shipping methods:

USPS First Class
USPS Priority
First Class International
Priority International

The International methods have all of my international zones and the USPS methods have all of my US zones.

So how would I set this product up so that shipping methods are only given to the zones in my USPS shipping methods?

I am not aware of a built in way to do this. I may be wrong, but I expect you will need to have this custom coded.

I assumed that would be the case. But figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I guess the fall back would be to put a notice on these products that they do not ship outside the USA, but then of course there are always those that don't follow directions.

BCSE had a module to assign shipping methods per product. So it will work for you. The think about it I don't like is that all items in cart have to have a common shipping method in order the checkout to work - so product A with Frist Class only and product B with Priority only cannot be ordered together (if I remember correctly how it worked).

Another way to go about this is to have it custom coded and not allow product to be added to cart if address is international or be auto taken from cart at checkout - with some note of course.
