How to change the level of the quick cart layer on home page

I am using xcart 4.4 and have the light and lucid 3-column skin in production. On the home page I have a photo slide show running in the main section of the page. However if someone has a product in their shopping cart and they click on the quick cart view on the home page the corner of the cart window is UNDER the slideshow in the main section.

I am trying to figure out how to move the cart layer above the slideshow layer. I thought that it might be fixed by updating the z-index fields in the main.css file, however the changes i made didnt seem to affect it and im not sure that the z-index parameter is the issue anyway, and if so, which css file would need to be updated.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

You can try setting the z-index for the cart container to some higher number

There are several locations where i have increased the z-index trying to target the cart container without seeing a change in the page. Do you know where the specific z-index that controls this would be found.

Thanks

This is the url: http://www.shoalstactical.com/

The quick cart does not overlap the slideshow under all resolutions, meaning that if your screensize is large enough then it wont be close enough to overlap, however for small screen sizes it does.

My next issue to tackle is the slow loading of the homepage, not sure if you have any suggestions about that too. I have tried pulling all of the flash off of the home page and it did not seem to affect the loading speed. I do have almost 10k products, so i am wondering if that is the problem? Also the slow speed pretty much only occurs when the page is not in history. Also Internet explorer loads the slowest. Chrome is in the middle, and Firefox is the fastest.

Thanks

Try adding

<param name="wmode" value="transparent">

to your flash
