I hope this fixes some of our issues.

However, is 5.3.X planned anytime soon and will there be any major additions?

The 5.3 roadmap is under development at the moment. As soon as we start development phase we will inform the community

There will be one more major update in 5.2 branch with features described here: https://www.x-cart.com/roadmap.html
