Login issues

I am trying to log in to x-payments. I have never had a problem before. When I try and login, it says it's a bad username or password, or the account is locked. There is only one account and it's an administrator account. I tried to reset the password, but it says:

Internal error

The requested action cannot be performed. See logs for details.

I'm not sure how to get the password to reset?

No new logs are generated when I get the error.

Did anyone changed anything like PHP version or re-compiled PHP on your X-Payments server? MySQL connections still alive? Nothing happens all of sudden without someone doing something somewhere. You said it was working fine until some moment when you faced to the issue.

There have not been any changes that I'm aware of, but I have no idea when the X-Payments login stopped working. X-Payments itself works fine, cards are being processed daily. We just can't login anymore. I'm the only one who ever logs in to X-Payments, and I haven't done so for several months. I also make all changes to their server, etc. and I haven't made any changes.

There is one error showing now in the logs. When I attempt to reset the password, it says this on screen:

Your SMTP login info is wrong so X-Payments 2.x you use cannot log into SMTP server to send reset password notification and shows Internal error. SMTP settings are configured via <you xpay folder>/config/config.ini.php file.

There is no /etc/ directory. Should it be the /public_html/config/config.ini.php file?

OK great. I did go ahead and make the changes in that file yesterday and it did the trick, thank you!
