Meet X-Cart 4.7.3 with Alibaba Integration aboard

Hi everyone!
Many of you are already looking forward to a long weekend. It's coming=) But before you leave for vacations, take a look what we prepared!

The new version integrates with Alibaba! This very module is already available for testing, but is still in beta. Please give us your feedback and it will go stable soon!

There are many other improvements, the overview is available in our blog, or, if you prefer "technical docs" instead, I'll post the changelog shortly:

I'm afraid we do not speak Chinese to offer a high-quality translation by our own means. If you speak Chinese and ready to translate and share your package with our community ( say, in exchange for X-Cart license as a gratitude from our side), please PM me.

There's also a Google Translation available in X-Cart marketplace.though, but I have no idea how far it is from a human-made one:

How about enabling the export of other products to Alibaba wholesalers? If I have a product to advertise to Alibaba salers, can this modue do so? Is this module just oneway to Alibaba and not 2 ways to both Alibaba and the manufacturer in Europe or U.S.A.? Can a manufacturer or a saler in Euro or U.S. sale to Alibaba using this module? If so, please display a creen shut of this. Thanks.

Currently it's planned as a one-side integration ( from Alibaba to your store). If what you're describing is supported by the integration API of Alibaba, and there will be requests of this feature from a number of merchants of ours, we will consider adding it too.

Re: Meet X-Cart 4.7.3 with Alibaba Integration aboard

Yes, Alibaba API does support uploading products to their site.
There will be more people wanting to sell in Alibaba, especially when Alibaba is growing internationally so fast.
I would love to see this feature soon!

there doesn't seem to be a 4.6.6 to 4.7.3 upgrade file. ETA?

rokonkwo 08-03-2015 07:53 PM

Re: Meet X-Cart 4.7.3 with Alibaba Integration aboard

Go from 4.6.6 to 4.7.2. Then from 4.7.2 to 4.7.3.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Upload to who in Alibaba? The module is a one-sided module.
Read again the reply from X-Cart.

Read my post again carefully. I was replying to their comment and letting X-Cart team know that Alibaba has released upload API.

Yes, rokonkwo is right. There is no direct upgrade path from 4.6.6 to 4.7.3, 4.7.2 is the highest possible version to upgrade from 4.6.6 directly. After you get 4.7.2, you should apply the second upgrade patch up to v 4.7.3.

Re: Meet X-Cart 4.7.3 with Alibaba Integration aboard

A Huge Thank You to the whole Qualiteam Team for your continued work on X-CART 4 !!

The upgraded of my development store from 4.6.6-->4.7.2-->4.7.3 went very smoothly. Your new template syntax checker tool really helped clean up my templates. All of my current template files checked out fine but since I started with v4.1.6 in 2007 and have done upgrade after upgrade to 4.7.3. I had accumulated quite a few template files from older mods that I no longer used and was able to clean them all out.

Tools-->Maintenance-->Check the syntax of all templates
Quote:

This is a time consuming operation. During the check of each template there will be an attempt at template compilation. This may negatively affect page response time for users currently visiting your website. Some errors may occur if a plugin unknown to Smarty is defined in a module that is disabled. You can resolve this by adding the problematic templates to the array $ignore_tpl_files in the file admin/check_tpl_syntax.php and re-run the operation.

For example, a template may reference a custom Smarty function or modifier. During normal operation, this does not cause errors, as this function is defined dynamically in a module or some kind of initialization php code. During the check via the Admin area this initialization php code is not executed, which results in a Smarty error. As we know it is not truly an error, we can add the template referencing this function to the exclusions list so it won't be checked.

Thank you again!

Paul

I'm having customers with regular PayPal errors during payments.
This is the error in the log from today:

The payments come through eventually, I don't know whether this particular payment was done multiple times or just once & came through, but honestly I don't expect an error from PayPal at all.

Is there any way to find out what causes this error & get it fixed?

1)Add the code
Code:

define('PAYPAL_ADVANCED_DEBUG', 1);
define('PAYPAL_DEBUG', 1);

in your config.php

2)Analyze x-errors_paypal-<date>.php and x-errors_payments-<date>.php files

3)Remove the debug code

Thank you, it has been added. Will leave it in there for now and see if it catches any strange errors.

The error I posted is also in there, which is quite an empty error

Is anyone experiencing any cache issues with 4.7.3 and when stock is reduced to 0?

I have seen a few instances where stock is reduced to 0, yet the product still shows on the website even though out of stock items should not appear.

Clicking on the product does provide the usual out of stock message, but unless clear the x-cart cache directory it will continue to appear incorrectly within the category.

Thanks in advance.

Could you check which cache is related to the problem
var/cache/smarty_cache/
or
var/cache/search_cache/
?

Thank you.

In two steps

1) 4.6.1-4.7.1
2) 4.7.1-4.7.x

There is should be a link `Upgrades` in your help desk.
