updating the Authentication page
Greetings,
8O I finally got most of my customizations done. But I'm having trouble with the Authentication page, how do I change the greeting on the top after clicking on login? http://www.2cutelingerie.com/xcart/customer/home.php. I wanted to add a simple link to the password recovery underneath the username and password.. I want it to say "forgot password?". I know the file I need to edit is NOT auth.tpl or authbox.tpl because editing those files didn't do anything. I was even able to delete them, and the login page would still show. Here are some customizations we have ordered. 1. Custom database - so all options (12 fields) can be in one spreadsheet. 2. Can use http:// inside database to point to thumbnails and detailed images 3. have additional search options (advanced search) 4. Frames (to maintain position in search engines (don't tell me frames hurt the positioning because this site is getting over 2,000 hits a day only because it is IN frames)). 5. Instock section - made it so people can search for their own size , save time... 6. split categorys -- main categories go along the top horizontally... All the subcategories load on the left. These customizations cost about $600-$700. I'm hoping they'll be worth it. Here's the link to the site (not live - database still being worked on  ) http://www.2cutelingerie.com/xcart/customer/home.php |
The link you want to add is:
This is in skin1/auth.tpl If you look in your customer/home.tpl you should see this file included. |
Okay, I managed to try the auth.tpl inside the skin1 folder. Only problem is that auth.tpl is for the administrative login. I need the one for the customer.

I'm having trouble trying to find another location for the auth.tpl file or what I need to update. Any ideas? |
I tend to create a new auth.tpl as a copy of auth.tpl call auth_cust.tpl
Make all the changes you like in there and change the include statement in home.tpl to refer to this file. Works like a treat. |
