Dynamic Preview Mod
 

We created a Dynamic Preview mod for x-cart, allowing visitors to dynamically load detailed image, product title, short description, product SKU and Price directly from store index page, category listing page or search results page.
You have probably seen something similar on istockphoto.com, bigstockphoto.com, jupiterimages.com and many other places....now available for X-Cart v.4.0.x and v.4.1.x.

Simply move your mouse over a thumbnail, and additional content appears beside it.
The Mod is configurable in several useful ways through xcart admin area.

Got a few questions
Is it a heavy script?
How are the loading times of the website affected?
Does it work with multi-language stores?
Is it possible to show more information, like out of stock etc?
Is it easy to customize to display more information?
How many files are there to be edited? Easy to install?
Does this one works with the TeleFirma Dynamic Image Creator? I've got very large detailed images. Will these be resized to a nice resolution?
Is it possible to just show a few details? Only info, or only detailed image etc?

Sorry for the many questions. But I'm really curious now.

Absolutely not, only added 2,5 kb js. I have seen no slow-down because preview image is dynamically loaded, not preloaded.

Does it work with multi-language stores?
Yes.

Is it possible to show more information, like out of stock etc? Is it easy to customize to display more information?
Not in this moment(except custom job), but we are planning on not only improving the existing functionality but adding new features as well, so stay tuned.

How many files are there to be edited? Easy to install?
Very easy, only 5 files need to be edited(one simple include statement per file).

I don't know, I never used TelaFirma image mod.

No, this mod will dynamically load first available Detailed image...in real resolution.

Is it possible to just show a few details? Only info, or only detailed image etc?

I've checked the demo, and it looks really nice.

It would be perfect for my store. However I would like to see more features in this mod like to add easily more information like items available / out of stock next to the short / detailed product description. A small thumbnail of a detailed image (set at the option page), instead of displaying a detailed image of for example 1024x768 pixels.
Ability to set to display an detailed image or not (It's not shown at your screenshot)

Keep me up to date with the newest changes / features. I'm definitely intrested in this one.

Thanks for your reply NightFire, but I don't see any reason to display a small thumbnail on thumbnail mouse over. The main idea for this mod is possibility to dynamically load detailed image and product name. Everything else(price, description, sku and prefix) is an addition.

This mod could be a good choise if your detailed images are not very big (800x600 or even bigger), otherwise no.

anyone have this installed yet with TeleFirma Dynamic Image Creator??? I've got a pretty large store and we are using this and don't want to find out it doesnt work with TeleFirma :)

I like the sound of this mod... Presumably you can have Detailed Product Images turned off on the site (but obviously have detailed images loaded in the product records) and still have this mod work?

I have the X Magnify module, so would probably rely on that to display a larger image on the product detail page (displaying a product detail image in addition to the magnifiable image seems like overkill). However, having the larger image displaying on mouseover on the thumbnails list would be really useful...

With the Dynamic Preview Mod are the larger images cached and are able to be saved just like the rest of the images? I would like to show a larger image but I am worried about copyright issues. I am a art designer and that is my biggest concern. How can I show what I have to offer with out being ripped off?
