XC prices went up 20%
 

This is recent. My guess is it started sometime after mid-March.

If you have not noticed XC prices just went up 20% - now they charge VAT separately on top of the advertised price. Which I assumed for a long time was included in the price to begin with.

Since EU is not US this sort of makes it illegal? It needs to be fixed.

In US you can show price with or without tax - it is up to the merchant. Tax is usually charged and shown at checkout. We are used to knowing the prices shown are without tax.
In EU you have to show price including VAT - in other words final price customer will be charged. All prices on the XC site are showing now excluding VAT....

Steve, we resell our products and services via Canadain PSP partner. So, we do not add VAT for US customers

VAT addes only for EU customers. Please, send the details about the extra tax to my email. I'll ask our billing team to review the situation.

This was a purchase for a site I am working on to move to XC5. I made the purchase on customer's behalf from his QT account. It is possible his address there or whatever registration is in GB. So that would explain it? It always has been this way?

However the point made about price - the module was still showing $149 instead of $149 + 20%. The tax showed and was added to price after adding it to cart which should not be the case. So you definitely have something wrong there.

I don't have an invoice as one was not send or shown to me but will send you what I have
