Hi Davy,

As you know, xmenus uses fixed width columns for menu layouts - this is not compatible with responsive techniques, so right now xmenus is not compatible with Fashion Walk. We are working on a solution to this.

To be honest, xmenus could be a nightmare on a smartphone - screen are just too small, particularly if you have very complex xmenus structures. A better option might be to switch xmenus off/on for difference device resolutions. We'll keep you posted.

I tested xMenus with xMobile, and like Will said, I turned it off (in xMobile -- I find xMenus to be an INCREDIBLE product for a full-sized template!!!!)

I agree with Will - mobile needs its own navigation method.

Personally, I am no fan of responsive for ecommerce -- I am very happy with two templates. Mobile is mobile, and we can make the best experience for the customer on mobile with xMobile template. I am a fan of responsive for our blog.

I think responsive is overrated industry buzz -- if a store can have a dedicated mobile solution, it makes for a better shopping experience. That's my $.02

I think the user experience with xMenus is so far superior than without it (for every screen size except smartphones) that if I were starting all over right now, I would still build my store with xTreme (and xMenus) + xMobile (and xBanners). But that's me.

Nothing "wrong" with Fashion Walk - but without xMenus, it's just X-Cart navigation (and yes, that is meant to be derogatory). xMenus nav permits any menu item to link anywhere -- an incredible feature. xMenus can make your store behave like the $zillion brands. Now that I have xMenus, I wouldn't build a store without it.

Will, didn't mean to hijack your thread! I think xMenus is one of the "don't launch without it" modules. Hopefully you can find a way to integrate some of the features of xMenus into a responsive template like Fashion Walk for the store who prefers responsive.

Good point - and thanks for the feedback on xMenus.
I think Fashion Walk combines some nice design cues from xMobile into the a single template
- that is totally device friendly/neutral - that can only be a good thing :)

Stay tuned folks, we will be posting our Fashion Walk video pretty soon, we moved office this week -our video/audio recording equipment was out of action.
We're setup now, so hope to have the video coming your way very soon.

No joke... but the admin area of Fashion Walk is really something worth checking out... watch this space...
