Its really bad, because VAT is english, in Geman it is MWst.

This was also in Xcart 4. I thought the xcart guys would have meanwhile changed this in xcart 5... but nooooooo.

This is really good question.

Almost everything in X-Cart 5 can be translated to other languages, VAT names is not exception.

What you need to do.

1) Go to your VAT section in admin area

2) On this page change language from English to Deutsch

3) As you can see VAT name is still VAT

4) Change its name to MWst (or whatever you like in Deutsch) and click Save changes button:

Once it is done, your VAT will be displayed as VAT in English or MWst in Deutsch in your customer front-end.

The same approach you can apply to absolutely everything in admin area: attributes, menus, payment descriptions and so on.
