Invoice Email Styling
 

How can I include custom styling to the invoice email sent after a purchase is made? I have styled and modified the invoice confirmation and the "Print Invoice" pages, but for some reason the email does not retain any of the stylings.

The main mods were made in the skin/common/files/mail/html/order-invoice.tpl file, and of course a css file.

I am on X-Cart 4.6.1

Not all e-mail clients render CSS styles correctly.

You may try to add your custom styles into the order_invoice.tpl template as a "<STYLE>...</STYLE>" block. Do the custom styles take effect in this case?

Hi Alex, I have tested adding the styles in the page, and it did not change the email styles. It keeps the new styles in the order confirmation page and the print invoice page, but not the actual email. See link to screenshots:

In addition to the styles, the product thumbnails did not carry over to the email either. I have tested this on Yahoo mail, OSX Mail, and Gmail. They all render the email exactly the same as in the screenshot.

Do I need to add anything to the <style>...</style> in the tpl file to let it know its css – similar to js code in the tpl file needs the {literal} tags?

Alex, I modified the style tags to be – <style type="text/css"> {literal} .... css styles in here .... {/literal} </style> – and this worked!! the email kept and took the styles.

BUT, I am still having issues with the thumbnails not coming into the email. Any idea why?
