Questions on X-Payments and how it affects store customers and admin users

Hello,

We are interested in using X-Payments, but I have some questions that I haven't been able to see direct answers on yet. If it matters, we use authorize.net for our payment gateway. And we're currently in the process of launching an updated v4.4.5 X-Cart store, but want to have PCI compliant setup in place before we do so.

1.) For orders that we place for a customer over the phone, does using X-Payments mean that we cannot bill the customer's card again that was used for a previous purchase and must always ask them for their card information again for each new purchase? Or does the X-Payments interface allow us some method of billing the same card previously used?

2.) For orders that are placed on our x-cart store by the customer online, do they have a way to still save their card information in their customer profile to be used again? Or will they be required to input their card information for each future purchase?

Thank you! :)

X-payments supports the Authorize.net AIM payment method.

AIM does not support the functionality you describe. You would need Authorize.net CIM or ARB. X-Payments does not support CIM or ARB. X-CART also does not have the functionality you describe in their payment module.

Within your Authorize.net account, there is a Customer Information Manager that allows a rebill - but I think that might be a feature of the CIM method. You can check with Authorize.net support, if no one here knows.

If you are interested in that functionality, I'd suggest talking to BCSE: http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=63635

It sounds like an Authorize.net CIM module is the way to go for us then. We're in contact with BCSE. Thanks!
