XCSEO Installation help!
I've been trying feverishly to install XCSEO.
I go through the instructions and upload what needs to be uploaded, and apply the first patch and everything is fine. When i apply the .htaccess patch the site completely stops working and yields this server error: "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Your administrator may not have enabled CGI access for this directory." So when i update the .htaccess file to what the XCSEO comes with, it breaks. Has anyone else seen this, or know what's going on? I also tried uploading the .htaccess file manually and that didn't work either, same thing. Help! |
Re: XCSEO Installation help!
Have you tried all of the sample .htaccess files that are in the htaccess examples folder?

Yeah, i have... I contacted Jon, the creator - he looked into and couldn't figure it out either. Something funky with the server.
Thanks though! |
Re: XCSEO Installation help!
to update, Dale has an unusual server configuration, using software that is a mix of Centos, BlueQuartz (? old software from Sun that has been open-sourced), Apache, etc. It doesn't seem to like rewrites in the .htaccess file, so he's checking with his server administrator for more information.
Normally I can troubleshoot issues like this, but I've never seen a configuration using BlueQuartz before, and there's not alot of documentation for it online. Cheers |
