Amazing instant x-cart search with thumbs!

You can see this in action on our site http://www.firetanksoftware.com/fts/customer/home.php simply start typing slowly in the search box!

For those of you who haven't been keeping up with our releases, you might be interested to see our Advanced Instant Search mod.

As you type it automatically brings back the products closet to what you have typed.

This mod works with any size of database.

Screen animation of it in action below, watch as the user types the display updates real time:

For example go to our site http://www.firetanksoftware.com and start typing marketing in the search box, watch it display products instantly, and change them as you complete the word.

Does this modification utilize AJAX?

Also I see you don't mention that it utilizes its own search functions?

Defiantly nice! 8)

I have this mod installed and I do like it. I do; however, have a little issue with it.

If I type in an exact keyword and hit enter BEFORE the mod has finished populating its list with the images, I will get the root level listing as if I just had the Enter key after clicking in the search box.

This can be a little anoyying - and I know that this has frustrated a few of my customers.

Other than that, very cool little mod.

another field in search result?

I've put it on a couple of sites. I love it!

I was wondering if there is an easy way to include a second field in the drop down search result. I have several products with the same product name, the difference is where they are located. So what I'd like to do in the drop down would be something like

{$products.product} - {$products.provider}

It appears the code is encrypted. Is there a way for me to do this?

Thanks

For some reason i kept missing this thread! Golf guy this would need custom work to do this, it would also slow it down a bit as it would need extra queries, the instant search was built for speed (on broadband it returns on almost every letter typed!)

Vacman this is really down to the net connection and how fast you type, with every letter typed its doing a new search if the server or the connection can't respond quickly enough then the customer won't see the box. This only really happens with people who touch type at around 60 words per minute.

95% of users type with one finger so they see everything!
