Force users to create account?
 

Is it possible not to actually FORCE them, but to have it go straight into the register page when you click continue from the page shown on
http://kb.x-cart.com/display/XDD/Configuring+your+store's+General+settings

under the Ask anonymous users to create an account or sign in before checkout heading.


Is it possible to have the small box under the user email on the checkout page defaulted to on?

That would solve it entirely, then at least they HAVE to select that box to not register. (this would probably be the easiest option if possible... my coding skills are poor)

There is no setting to make X-Cart behave like this.

But you may hire someone to program such a custom module for you.

Alex - Can you please advise how we can have customers need to login in order to checkout on the latest X-Cart 5? Having anonymous orders is no good as they always email wanting to see their order history and such. Please tell me there is an easy way to do this!

Unfortunately, anonyous checkout can not be entirely disabled in X-Cart 5.
You will need to create a module that does that for your store.

If you are not a developer, I would suggest to order the custom coding from someone else.
