OLD:
We started thinking about next year (2016) X-Cart meet-ups in the USA and right now we are choosing between doing one larger meet-up in Orlando or several smaller in other states of the USA than we visited in September. E.g. in Ohio where BCSE is located ;) (we haven't spoken with Carrie about that yet).

We are heading to IRCE in June and may have those meetups either in May before the IRCE show or next week after it in June.

Your thoughts and input are appreciated!

I think the best bang for the buck is going to be one large meetup.

The Orlando meetup was successful, but I am not sure it is going to be the best for a repeat so soon. I like the idea of the Ohio meetup. I am biased though, it is close to me, and I would like to see Carrie and the crew.

I think one place is better instead of few smaller meetings.
I vote for Orlando. Maybe you can setup a survey and see which one gets more votes.

Ohio is closer to Chicago you know. :)

Columbus would be the most central location if you do go the Ohio route. We're located about 1 hour and 15 min or so, south east of it.

I missed out on things last year, and it really didn't make it on my radar due to being in so many places. It's nice to have it all in one location, this gives better networking opportunities to people too. I was torn to go West Coast or East Coast last year and in the end, went to neither due to some heavy client requests/requirements :(

I'd like to try and get out again this year, but no decision on my end until we're within 45 days of the date - hard to commit to anything right now :(

No dates yet that I know of, except it will probably be before or after IRCE. I think Alex said Orlando and Atlanta are possibilities, and somewhere in Ohio... :-)

Alex is there a day and time set for the meeting. I am trying to plan and book tickets/room but the day will affect my choices. I assume it will be either Friday or Saturday afternoon?

Does anyone remember what the district was that we had met in Chicago before? I want to say I stayed at the Hyatt, but I can't remember. Last thing I want to do is find a hotel out in Oak Park when I should be in River North district. I know I can grab and cab/uber and bounce around town, but I know where we were last time was nice.

The ole memory is fading a little :)

After doing this consistently for a few years now, and some other pleasure trips up there, I can tell you that you want to be close to Millenium park. Closer the better.

Yep, we've just had it set: June 2nd 1pm-8pm same hotel in Orlando as last time.
I hope the date is good for the most of X-Carters in the area and around it ;)

At the venue where we will be, I think there is a pool as Steve suggested. But even that could get old for 7 hours. If I took my kids, (13, 14, and 15 years old) I'd drop them at an amusement park, give them $20 bucks each and a cell phone to keep in touch. :-)

But I'm not sure if that would work for your crew, how old are they?

At that point they will be 9 (barely), 12 and 14.

So it would be the 9 year old I'd be afraid the other two would leave behind. LOL

Okay I am booked for the trip, subject to change if I have messed up any dates or locations! Going to detail my itinerary in case anyone wants to meet up or parallel my plans. Anyone going from Louisville to Chicago or back again, there are two free seats available in the van. :-)

1. I am flying into Orlando on June 1st (Wednesday) will arrive at 10:30pm
2. Staying at Econo Lodge 7102 International Drive, Orlando (Florida), FL 32819
3. X-Cart Meeting on June 2nd from 1-8pm
4. Flying out June 3rd back to Louisville on Friday at 8:00pm
5. Driving from Louisville to Chicago for IRCE on Sunday June 5th, arrive around 3pm in Chicago
6. Staying at the SP Millenium Suites next to Millenium Park
7. Help setup X-Cart booth Monday June 6th
8. Work the IRCE show from June 7-10
9. Drive back from Chicago to Louisville on Saturday June 11th.

So excited! I can't wait to see everyone.
