Hmm... something tells me that this should be the first stop post-install and comment this out. I can't see ANYONE wanting the SSN to travel via email. WHY was this added to core functionality of xcart, when it sounds like it should have been a mod for the one person who wanted it. Just my $.02

I can't image someone actually using their personal SSN, maybe this is for companies who provide their Tax ID which wouldn't be as much of a risk?

Sometimes it takes awhile for them to get the upgrade packs into everyone's download area. Theres always the possibility that they aren't quite finished with it either, only the core. Either way, it'll show. :)

I've found two apparent errors in the upgrade pack.

#1 the file include/admin_security.php was not copied into the /include/ directory
#2 the func_version_compare logic in /modules/magnifier/config.php was reversed it read:

(func_version_compare($config["version"], "4.1.9") < 0 ? "N" : "Y");

should be: (func_version_compare($config["version"], "4.1.9") < 0 ? "Y" : "N");

or at least that was the only way I could get the Magnifier module to work.

I don't use the magnifier module so i can't speak on that. However my admin site says 4.1.8 still as well and i had to manually apply the patch.sql because it gave the DB error before finishing step 2.

yeah, i got the same sql errors substitute my site name and database name. Infact i can't get to step two because the validation takes so long on my server that i get this error. Basically it sayd patch applied on everything, click apply (shows step one) but it kicks me out because the process to verify the patch took to long.

"The form could not be identified as a form generated by X-Cart. The reason may be that a substantial period of time has elapsed, or more than 100 pages have been opened since you opened the page with this form. If you did not open the page with this form, you might be under a CSRF attack."

Other than the HTTPS problem, did you have any other problems checking out with PayPal Pro? I was using/testing 4.1.8 for the past few weeks and had several successful orders using PayPal Pro in Test Mode (both with Express and with Credit Card).

I did a fresh install of 4.1.9 and applied all the changes I had applied to 4.1.8. These were mainly appearance-related plus some BCS Eng. mods (shipping estimator, customer review management, catalog order form, and shipping per product). Now I can't get any orders to go through PayPal Pro. I've tried Express and Credit Card and I keep getting an order declined error due to a duplicate invoice number.

I definitely didn't mess with any of the payment-related scripts/templates. I just worked my butt off for the past 2 days getting 4.1.9 to the same point I had had 4.1.8. I'm logged into PayPal Sandbox like I'm supposed to be. I don't know what the problem could be, but I can't imagine it's related to the changes I've made.

Is anyone else using 4.1.9 with PayPal Pro? I'm desperate for assistance here as I would like to get my store launched. I need to sleep now, but if no one has any ideas, I guess I'll have to try doing a default install with just the PayPal Pro setup done and try test orders with that. If that doesn't work, I'll have to go back to 4.1.8.

This would explain why MANY customers double \ tripple submit messages.
I'm worried that there are just too many updates included in this pack. I'll wait for a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

I to am going to stick with 4.1.8 until the bugs are worked out. My upgrade pack I tried on my test instalation said it could not pach the skin1/head.tpl. The only modification to that file is the image I show on my site. I hope that get these problems worked out and provide us with a working upgrade pack. I would hate to have to manually update all the files in this update.

Do you have any shipping methods configured? Seems like your entire top half is missing which is the shipping address with the shipping method radio buttons. No problems on my 4.1.9 upgrade

I'm with you, Duramax. I have to admit that the PayPal duplicate invoice error I mentioned above does not occur in a default installation of 4.1.9. So I messed up something in my customization and/or one or more of my mods (see signature) is causing a problem.

However, there seem to be many complaints regarding this version and I noticed that the support team posted a message that they are swamped right now. 4.1.8 has been working well for me throughout my customization/testing process so I think I will stick with it and wait for a later 4.1.x version that doesn't seem to cause so many problems.

I would like to hear from anyone who is running 4.1.9 and is using any of the BCS Engineering mods listed in my signature. If so, please let me know if you're having any luck. I've decided not to waste my time going through to check what changes I've made have caused my 4.1.9 to fail. I'm just going to plow forward with my 4.1.8 and try to go live soon. So if anyone can tell me whether these mods work properly with 4.1.9, it would be a great help to me in deciding what to look for the next time I try to upgrade.

This is expected behavior. If you modify any of the files that are later upgraded by Qualiteam, you will get a warning that it cannot be patched and you must manually apply the updates yourself. The way patch files are applied are by diffing the files. If you've modified the file, there is no way the patch diff will match and that file will be flagged as unpatchable.

This is just another reason why everyone who modifies their X-Cart should be using a version control system such as Subversion to help managing merging/applying updates.

I have been able to upgrade through every level of 4.1 with out having to manually apply a patch. Just this .9 version is causing problems.

After comparing the to head.tpl files there are two changes

Id tag line change in version, date and time

<input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="{$redirect|escape}" />

|escape was added to the line.

The only mod that I have is the xlogo.gif was changed to my logo. I don't see how the image change would stop the diff fill from being applied. Everyone must have changed the logo on there store.

People using Excel to import UTF-8 file are going to have problems. The same import that worked in 4.18 may not work in 4.19. For example, category names must be quoted with double quote in category import in some situation. Some text are skipped in some other UTF-8 imports, adding double quote fix the problem.

HTML Form post to x-cart using script does not work anymore. For security reason, 4.19 checks x-cart created form-id to make sure it is posted from a x-cart form. I just make that function in backoffice.php to always return true to bypass check. I did everything in VM, upload the whole site/db after I am done. One probably will want to keep form-id check in the live site.

HTML Form import using script also need to be changed, 4.19 has added an upload file location form field, and maybe some other changes.

For some reason, this seemed like a tougher than normal upgrade. My only hope is that the cart remains stable.
A few things I noticed that I thought would be beneficial to point out.

After upgrading, the Web Tools User ID cleared out. (under General>Shipping options )
I tried this upgrade 3 times in a test directory with the same result, so you might want to make sure that if you use USPS for shipping, you have your ID to put back in there. My shop came up with no available shipping methods without this.

Another thing that I noticed, is that when generating the HTML catalog, the process nearly brings the store on the customer side to a halt. It takes nearly 30-40 seconds to change a page on the customer side while the HTML catalog is being generated - I did this with the option of only creating 100 pages at a time to see if that would help)

Also, I noticed a substantial decrease in speed once entering into the checkout mode. Clicking add to cart, checkout and submit order are the areas that it was noticed.

Anyone else experiencing these issues?

It sounds like xcart is having quite a few problems with this upgrade and they have been busy fixing quite a few cart with slight modification, Wonder if there doing this for free, or carging everyone the time.

This has to be the worst upgrade of all. bugs, speed issues and mysql upgrade problems.

Has anyone else experience "speed issue" after upgrading to the new 4.1.9 release? It seems like the overal responsiveness of the 4.1.9 store isn't as fast as the previous version. In my 4.1.9 test store, the first intial click to a new category or particular product/item take about 5-10 seconds. After that, it would it back to normal (within 1-2 seconds). It does sound like a "caching" issue, but my gut feeling doesn't think so. Hopefully it is just a minor code change somewhere that can be easily fixed.

Can someone from X-cart jump in and let us know if this is an isolated incidient or other customers also having the same issue as well? And any recommendations on how to ressolve/troubleshooting this?

It looks to be several isolated incidents caused by different reasons as we do not have considerable amount of such reports from our clients. There were no changes between 4.1.8 and 4.1.9 which can slow down X-Cart.

Whether this has any impact or not, I thought I would at least share it in case it would help.
I noted in an earlier post in this thread that the speed of the 4.1.9 version seemed slower. After upgrading and installing in test directories, I noticed there was a warning about not having MCRYPT installed. I had never been prompted for that before during the upgrades, but got the error while testing a virgin install of the 4.1.9 branch. I have a dedicated server, but was reluctant to install this, but figured I might as well try it. Whether it was coincidental or not, the speed picked up dramatically.
I would like to hear some input back from someone who knows servers well enough to comment whether this is something that people with a noticeable slowdown should ask their hosts/ or install on their servers, or not.

That warning came only when I was doing a test run with a virgin copy of 4.1.9 - I wanted to find out if my 4.1.8 was all messed up and if the fresh install worked better than the upgraded install. I did not get the warning when doing the upgrade, only the fresh install, which was kind of strange I thought
I think the warning was either on the database /username entry page, or the next page after that.
