XCart 5 Use an Image Map for add to Cart
 

We sell RC Car and parts for the cars. We have exploded views of the Cars. I have made image maps with links to all the parts.
Two Question.

1) If I put the Images and Maps in a static pages is there anyway to have a click on the hotspots do an add to cart? preferably without a page reload.

2) In Xcart 4 the Image Maps would work in static pages and I could click hotspots and get product pages to load and do add from the product pages. It was clumsy but worked. In Xcart 5 only the first hotspot works and Xcart 5 is resizing my Image which Xcart 4 left alone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it is possible to form an URL that would add a product to cart:

Technically, this is possible, but is likely to be implemented as a custom module - you need a JavaScript code that would look through the image map and assign custom click handlers.



I need to check the page URL to see why it works this way.


Yes, X-Cart 5 resizes many images in order to reduce the bandwidth usage. However, it depends on where the image is displayed and how it was uploaded.
