Dynamic Expandable Categories Menu
 

Not happy with Fancy type Categories? Use the Expandable Category Menu. There has been a lot of requests for the menu system that I used on the X-Cart site www.AngelaCarolPearls.com so I have now decided to sell it as a X-Cart mod.

The features of the mod are:

1) All categories are listed on the page (in the code) using unordered lists. This allows the categories to be expanded and collapsed without reloading the page

2) The look and feel is fully controllable through the CSS file that is included.

3) This menu will work with categories up to three levels deep.

Can you set it up to expand horizontal, I have a couple of cat's that go 4 deep?

Does it load in the template by looping through the categories over and over?

This could be set to go 4 levels deep, but I would need to test it to see what the performance impact is. I will let you know.

Kind of. It checks It starts secondary loops based on the values of the parent ID.

Nice menu!

One thing is that I can see the plus sign come and go in the menu as i click on the different categories. Is there a way to come aroundd this problem?

I use Firefox 1.5
