Simple Signup to Receive Free Download
 

I am looking for a mod to provide a browser with a SIMPLE way of requesting a download or a User Manual, Demo Application etc.

I know I could use the following:
1) Make the customer go through the process of placing a zero value EGoods order. I would imaging most wouldn't bother as it is asking too much.

2) Link to a Mailchimp campaign. This is simple for the user but a nightmare for the store owner. I have up to 1000 items which I would like to distribute this way which would mean 1000 Mailchimp campaigns.

What I need is the following:

The customer is on a product page and he clicks a button (or link) to request the item. a popup appears where he enters his email address.

The item is sent to his email address - simple.

Making it simple increases the the chances of take up. I need the contact email address so I can follow up with the sales process. SOme products we sell are technically complex and a dialogoe with the prospective custiomer is often essential to secure a sale.

Can anyone help please?

You can use the "ask a question" popup that is already in XC out of the box. With some minor changes to language you can make it "request info", the form will send you an email with the customer request and you can email back with whatever is needed

I could do that but I was looking for an automated solution so customers will get an immediate download 24/7. I have X-Cart Product Downloads installed for managing the products so it could work with that.
