Can't seem to link to home.php
Whenever I try to add a link (in a tpl file) to home.php home.php gets stripped out of the link.
For instance http://www.amateurgeologist.com/home.php becomes http://www.amateurgeologist.com/ /home.php becomes / I want to add a link that takes customers back to the shop entry page and not my website entry page. I haven't been able to find an option for this behavior. Any ideas? |
Re: Can't seem to link to home.php
This is a feature of CDSEO to prevent duplicate content. We recommend using your store front as your index page and loading it from the domain with this code in an .htaccess file:
DirectoryIndex home.php index.php index.html index.htm If you don't want to do this, you can link to index.php instead of home.php |
Re: Can't seem to link to home.php
Moving to Third Party Add-ons as this is not an X-Cart bug.

Re: Can't seem to link to home.php
AND -- for SEO, ALL links to your home page MUST be identical. If this were my site, I'd put xcart into the root, and NOT use a landing page.
the link to my home page is: "/" (this assumes you have DirectoryIndex set as Jon described above) |
Re: Can't seem to link to home.php
Thanks. This helps.
My initial shop set-up, fromrears ago and with Shopsite, has been a landing page and content links. The content has been feature articles, a dictionary of geologial terms and firld trip reports. The content is to pull people to the site. The features and field trip reports contain references to products. For instance a geologial field trip will reference roadside geology books. The gutter on the right has products releated to the article. I originally did think that I'd be able to combine the model using XCart. I guess what I'm looking for is a tree hierarchy for static pages. I could use categories as content pages but I don't want to mix store and content pages. Come to think of it I could probably use categories and then use dynamic filtering to separate the two trees. Thanks again. |
