Release Notes for Updates?
 

Hello,

Where can I find the release notes whenever updates are issued? For example, an update to Paypal 5.3.3.7 has been released, but I would like to evaluate what improvements it contains before risking an installation.

That should be standard operating procedure, but for some reason it isn't.

That isn't always the case. I have seen it on some updates, but there were no release notes showing for the Paypal 5.3.3.7 update.

Regardless, when it does show the release notes, you have to begin the upgrade process to read them. We should have access to the notes prior to downloading and staging the updates.

download archives with updates, the system will unpack it and show improvements

As previously stated, the updates do not always supply release notes. Please see the attached screenshots of the Paypal 5.3.3.7 update and it is clear there are no links to a changelog or release notes of any kind.

The http://devs.x-cart.com/en/changelog/ site also did not have any posts to this update when it was released since the May 2nd post was prior to the release and the May 12th post was after the release.

The release notes should be made available for all updates, and prior to us beginning the update process.

I can confirm - 5.3.x update for PP - no list of changes or what is being updated.

Log file was not created for this version of the module so there is nothing to show on install. last log is 6.log for 5.3.3.6 (not 7.log for 5.3.3.7 as it should be) with this line in it

Thank you. We will review our release procedure to make sure that all the logs are included in the release notes.

Release notes still aren't being included in the patch screens. Any idea of when that will be implemented for all updates?
