Hi Mike, not especially, depends how custom your store is, what third party modules you have etc. It's certainly easy to install, but it helps if you have basic PHP and Smarty knowledge, or a fairly capable developer on board who can ensure any third party code works correctly with the template. Get in touch if you'd like me to take a look at your store and give you a better idea.

Hi Phil,

I was just looking at the Ultra demo. I know it might be late in the process for requests/or suggestion. However, it would be great to have the option to set the search box as a drop down (as you currently have it) or as a box that is always visible in the header as typically seen in desktop versions.

Since desktop versions usually have the visible box, I'd like to try both options on the live site to make sure I'm using the one that is best for my customers.

I think I mentioned this before but I'm not sure if you were able to include it. However it would be really great to have recently bought and recently viewed display on the home page(in the center column below the slider) for many months for ALL returning users, including non-registered and non-logged in.

Also, perhaps upsell products for recently viewed and/or recently bought could be shown.

This would make it very easy for returning customers to re-order the same product or purchase something that they were looking at in a previous visit. Basically it would be a customized home page based on returning visitor's behavior. I think this could be really powerful - much better than showing everyone the same featured products and best sellers.

I see what you're saying, but it's nigh on impossible without customers logging in... unless you do something funky with long lasting cookies, but I wouldn't know where to start on that. It might get a few people's back up regarding privacy also.

Otherwise, Ultra fully supports the recently viewed and the quick reorder modules.

Hey phil, great looking template. If I have lot of subcategories under a category, when viewing on desktop, is it possible to show it with multiple columns and rows? Similar to iherb.com, when you mouseover the "Supplements" menu.

Yes, it would be fairly easy to do, there's plenty of header menu options including mega menus available. I can always code the menu for you to suit your category tree.

Suggestion: You might want to add Pilibaba logo with the rest of the payment logos located on the footer of the page on the Ultra Template.

I installed the reBOOT template a couple weeks ago on a development site and it is an amazing piece of work. What is the best way to get answers for quick questions on this template? Through this X-Cart forum, PM to Phil, XCARTMOD website or some other channel?

That's been done. Working on opc / fl checkouts, blog, testimonials, few other modules, bit n bobs / css, then tidy up and testing / speedup / seo for a few days, then documentation, then release. Won't be released until 100% happy with it. Some way to go yet.

One more suggestion if it is not too late...

On the product page, to the right of the price is the number of reviews. When the number is clicked we are taken to the review page. Would it be possible to have this link take the clicker to the reviews tab on the product page instead?

I don't think it is good strategy to (at the top of the product page) invite the shopper to another page where the product can't be purchased. The shopper can still go to the review page from the review tab if they want to read more.

Also, on the review page, could you add button or a link to take the shopper back to the product detail page.

Has anyone else experienced white space issues when using reboot with XPDF invoices? When I enable the XPDF invoices module, I get random instances of when I inspect my site in firebug. However, this only occurs if I have the reboot skin activated.

Thanks for that. I actually found the same thing yesterday and forgot to update this thread with my findings. It was definitely BOM with the reboot skin files. I basically ran a search and replace on all of the template files to remove the BOM, and I no longer have the issue :)

Two scripts, one checks tpl files for BOM's recursively, one fixes recursively. Upload to root and run (tested). Remove after use. Download. Latest release is BOM-free.

I have xcart v4.7.6, reboot v4.7.6.2, wordpress v4.6.1 and alien ship v1.2.5 installed.

Trying to click on a blog link or typing /blog at the end of the my store url only reloads the home page of xcart. I am able to get to blog/wp-admin.

my store resides in a subfolder, so I have uncommented the RewriteBase line in baseurl/store/.htaccess and included my subfolder.

baseurl/store/blog/.htaccess is blank and has 444 permissions.

I checked the wp_options table and the siteurl and home settings are correct.

What else could prevent the blog from loading?

Phil, my Thai King just passed away and every Thai web sites have their homepage grayscaled. I managed to add:

style="-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%); filter: grayscale(100%); "

to the <body> tag at /skin/reboot/customer/home.tpl But it is affecting the whole site. I want to grayscale only the homepage and not the product pages. Can you help? Thanks a lot.

If your store is not passing the Google 'Mobile Friendliness' test, ensure this setting is unchecked...

Phil,

I have encountered a small issue on the product sort buttons located within the dialog_extra.tpl (the issue appears on your 476 demo store as well). When you choose to "sort by 'x' descending", it will properly sort the products in descending order, however the button still shows ascending. In other words, the up arrow is showing instead of the down arrow. This can be confusing to customers, and also does not allow you to choose sort by ascending at that point because the button already thinks it is selected.

Quick question regarding the Tabs on the homepage for "New Arrivals", "Featured Products", etc... I was wanting to add a tab for "Bestsellers" and have the products be displayed in the products_t.tpl like the other products in that tab group. However, whenever I try to do this, there are no "add to cart" buttons. Does anybody know how to have the bestsellers included in this tab group and have them display like the other products in the tab group?

One other thing, accordions that are open will only allow you to fully collapse them once. If you reopen the accordion, you can no longer collapse it. You can see this at http://xcartmods.com/reboot477/Widgets.html#*. In addition, the shortcodes page has something wrong with it that is causing it automatically scroll to the bottom.

$bestsellers array doesn't contain all the data that $products / $new_arrivals / $on_sale does (bestsellers are usually just meant for the sidebar).

It would require some SQL query mods to get working, but you could hard-code an add to cart button for now.

Or, put a 'Quick View' button... Get in touch and I'll help.
I don't see accordions on that page, but there's some here (Toggle Panel Groups). There's more info about Bootstrap accordions here.

I should have been more specific about the accordions I am talking about. They are actually the responsive tabs on your http://xcartmods.com/reboot477/Widgets.html#* page, but when viewed on a mobile device, or by shrinking your screen under the breakpoint that changes responsive tabs to the accordions. Once you look at them, you will see what I am talking about. For instance, the "Tab 1" will initially be open. So, you can click on it to close it. Once it is opened again however, it will not be able to be closed by just clicking on it. From that point forward, at least 1 tab has to be open, all of them cannot be closed.
