ezCheckout Vs 1 one page checkout

ezCheckout

VS versus

One page checkout
http://www.websitecm.com/x-cart-mods/x-cart-one-page-checkout.html?

Please post your responses:

1. Advantages and disadvantages of each?
2. What do you guys see as the winner on the two options?

ezcheckout...
Advantage: of it works with the funnel conversion stats.
and seems faster to load since is broken down into pieces.

Disadvantes: many more steps along the way that can turn the customer off.

one page
Adv: one page...may help with sales.
Dis: Seems to load slower. Kinda of lags somewhat...like hesitates. Not quick and nimble.

#2..which is better...I dont know..hence why i want you guys input.

Thanks
P.S. If any of you can make this a poll..it wouold be great.

Re: ezCheckout Vs 1 one page checkout

Personally I was losing a lot of customers at checkout. I have impliments the one page checkout from altered cart and absolutly love it (and am reducing the number of abondoned carts).

I cannot speak more highly of it - not cheap but very slick and its nice to see AZAX in x-cart

Re: ezCheckout Vs 1 one page checkout

Good to hear Paul.
The coffee site is very nice and works pretty smooth.

What mod are you using that allows the visitor
to calculate the shipping based on zip right BEFORE he
goes to the 1 page checkout?
And...
does that work properly with the shipping area on
1 page checkout?

The reason why I ask is b/c I skipped putting the postal code
to calculate shipping, but when I go to the one page checkout,
I see that shipping is calculated for me.

Thanks!

Re: ezCheckout Vs 1 one page checkout

Thanks for the comments

The shipping calculator is from BSC Engineering - not that expensive and worth its weight in gold. (Their support is quite good and all of their mods are great)

It uses your shipping system so whatever you have set in there (Real Time UPS or your own rates / zones and methods).

It also uses your default location (general settings) until you enter your own postcode - hence the results you experienced. If you do not want that to happen leave the default location blank in the general settings.

As it is using the shipping system, yes the results are the same as you go through the checkout. (Saves people having to go through checkout or register just to get a shipping rate)

There seom good threads in the forums on the shipping rate calculator if you hunt around - otherwise contact BSC
