Pretty features for X-Cart
Hello for all.
Our design team developed some neat features for X-Cart which can make your customers experience even better. Here is the list: * Drag-n-drop feature. Drag a product thumbnail and drop it in the minicart section to add the product to the cart. * Banner system allows admin to place both images and HTML-code banners anywhere in X-Cart by using a special interface under admin area. This module useful for promoting products, events, offers. * Magic carousel to show any list of products in one row as a carousel. Useful for featured products, bestsellers and other special lists. * Wordpress integration. Make WP a part of X-Cart and use its features with the same site design and one customer profile for WP and X-Cart Demo site: http://mods.x-cart.com/home.php All these features can be integrated. Just post a quote request at http://www.x-cart.com/request_quote.html and our managers will contact you and discuss the details. |

Some good stuff with the wordpress integration!

Re: Pretty features for X-Cart
These are interesting. I see that there is a "request quote" area, but is there a general estimate to how much it would cost?

Re: Pretty features for X-Cart
While some of these are interesting and show promise the browser errors that show up such as the following would give me great concern to spend much on these:
Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6.4; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Timestamp: Sat, 13 Feb 2010 03:47:36 UTC Message: 'parents(...).get(...)' is null or not an object Line: 125 Char: 7 Code: 0 URI: http://mods.x-cart.com/skin1/modules/Flyout_Menus/Icons/func.js Also the drop and drag feature should also carry over to the product.tpl not just the products.tpl. |
Re: Pretty features for X-Cart
Im not a big fan of the drag and drop, it seems like creating a problem when there is already a quicker solution... if you have products listed on the bottom of the page, and the cart section is at the top, the user would have to drag it all the way to the top of the page. Why not just keep it as ajax add to cart with a message the item has been added.. i know there is this already, but why have two options, plus I cant think of leading shops which employ this, so the user will be unfamiliar with it

The price of the features are depended on the X-Cart version. For example the implementation of drag-n-drop feature to 4.3.x branch is very easy, but for lower version the AJAX engine should be transferred and as a result the cost is much expensive. However we are planning to define the cost for each version and will add to the site. At the moment, please, feel free to contact your sales manager. |

This issue connects with the default Flyout Menu behavior. It seems that you use Mozilla browser. Unfortunately X-Cart 4.3.0 doesn't support this browser and as a result you got a JS error. However if you use other browser, please let me know the version. UPDATED: "Mozilla" and "Mozilla FireFox" are the different browsers. All popular FireFox versions are supported by X-Cart 4.3. |
Re: Pretty features for X-Cart
Maxim, could you clarify your post? What browsers are supported by X-Cart 4.3?

No I was in IE 8 when I get that error. When I use Mozilla I don't get that error and everything works fine. If you are telling me that 4.3 doesn't work in Mozilla Fire Fox then we have a problem and I need to be searching for a real shopping cart. 8O I sure hope something is lost in translation as X-cart not working with Mozilla is not acceptable. |
Re: Pretty features for X-Cart
Hoosier, that's exactly why I asked for clarification. I certainly don't want to develop skins for X-Cart, if they aren't supporting Firefox.
