"Special Offers: Buy X Get Y" module for X-Cart 5
 

Hello!

I'm happy to announce a new module for X-Cart 5 - "Special Offers: Buy X Get Y".



At the moment the module supports promotions where customers need to buy N items from specified categories to get a discount on M of them (the cheapest ones). This allows you to create special offers like "Each 2nd shirt at the half price", "Buy 5 books and get $5 off on the cheapest one", "Get every 3rd product for free" and so on.

We have plans on adding more "Buy X Get Y" promotion types (for example, instead of giving a discount the module will place a free gift to the cart). So, if you need a promotion that is not supported by the module yet, please send me a note and we may give that improvement a higher priority in our plans for that module :-)

There is another "special offers" module that supports different types of offers: Special Offers: Spend X Get Y

Im looking for something that will let me:

1. offer a product or product type
2. Buy this product, get a Free (hat or t-shirt)
3. Buy this product, get a Free (Hat AND t-shirt)
4. Spend this amount, get a Free (Hat, Shirt, etc)

Does this module support this type of ting?

The module does not have these types of offers at the moment, but I though of implementing the "Buy this product, get a Free" type the next.

Please could you explain how you think the offers that you listed should work? Should it add the free item(s) to the cart automatically? Or should it ask the user to choose the item somehow? When/where should this happen? And so on...

Also, I'm not sure if I understand what you mean in the first point. What is that type of promotion?

The version 5.2.1 has been released.

It fixes the problem with a fatal error message that appears for guest users when there is a special offer with membership restrictions.

The version 5.2.2 has been released.

It fixes the inability to create other offer types due to missing default values for some columns added by this module in the special offer table.
