Webmaster Mode - for customer pages
 

How can I use the Webmaster Mode for pages the customer see? So far, I can only use it for administrator pages.

I would love to go through my site in Webmaster Mode and identify the .tpl files that are behind the different sections.

Turn on webmaster mode, and open your customer front end in a new window. It should automatically load.

Do you have a pop-up blocker installed? Are you using Windows XP SP2?

Could you please add some version and server info to your forum signature? We have no idea what environment you are talking about.

Sorry! :oops: I'm a sales guy trying to make the transition to a tech guy.

I have Service Pack 2 but I told it not to block pop-ups from my X Cart site (https://secure.mysite.com/xcart/). Webmaster Mode works great on the admin pages but when I click at the top to go to the storefront or shift+click to go there, the extra window pane with the template list doesn't change.

Can you PM me the URL so I can take a look?

I looked and couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Can you try clicking the link on the Webmaster mode page? once you trun on webmaster mode a link appears on that page to open the customer front end.

Click around a few times and see if the pop up changes.

After that, I am out of suggestions.

Btw, I assume you are using IE and not Nutscrape or some other alternative browser......

I'm also wondering if it is because your front end is https.

I was a little confused about this at first, too.

Maybe you're smarter than I am, and have tried this already, but I finally saw the link on the page where you turn Webmaster mode on that says "Open customer area in new window."

That worked for me.
