PayPal-US SFTP service Updates
 

I have just received the following email from PayPal. As I understand, the North-American merchants may need to add several IPs to their firewalls.

SFTP service Updates


PayPal continues to make significant investments and improvements to its infrastructure. These improvements sometimes require us to perform necessary site maintenance upgrades.

As an advisory, the following upgrade events are planned. The information below provides the planned schedule and a brief overview of impacts for your merchants.

Please note that for up to 6 hours starting Feb 11, 2014, 11:00 am PST through 5:00 pm PST, PayPal Secure FTP servers (reports.paypal.com, batch.paypal.com, accounts.paypal.com, dispute.paypal.com) will be unavailable.

Once services resume after the maintenance activity is completed, merchants may receive a "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!" error message, and may be unable to access the Secure FTP Servers. To clear this error, please remove entries in the known_hosts file for any of the following endpoints, and then retry login:

reports.paypal.com
batch.paypal.com
accounts.paypal.com
dispute.paypal.com

Merchants may also notice additional IP addresses added to DNS records for the above mentioned endpoints. Please make sure your system is configured to have inbound/outbound traffic to the following IPs:

173.0.84.161
173.0.84.198
173.0.88.161
173.0.88.198

Also, on Feb 20, 2014, for up to 30 minutes starting at 11:00 pm and through 11:30 pm PST, Secure FTP (SFTP) servers will be down for maintenance. During this time, merchants may experience login authentication issues while accessing the servers.
