Remove Evaluation Notice?

I purchased a license, so I need to remove this notice that appears at the top of my store. A little help please?

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

Register your X-Cart as follows:
  1. Make sure that no HTTP-authorization and firewall restrictions are set on incoming HTTP-connections to your X-Cart installation.
  2. Login to your private members area with your username and password.
  3. Go to "My licenses" section.
  4. Check whether the license URL is the URL to the home directory of your X-Cart store (without a trailing slash). If it is not, follow the "Change URL" link to the right from the license URL and replace the license URL with the correct one.
  5. Follow "Register" link to the right from the license URL
Also, you can find more detailed instructions with the correct license URL in your X-Cart backend. The instructions are a part of the evaluation notice shown in the X-Cart backend.

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

Hi,
I have been running xcart for some time and have just upgraded to 4.3.1 on a brand new install. I updated the details on the licence page but according to the agreement I am allowed to run the software on my web server at home. How do I remove the message from the web server copy?

This removing the licence is studpid, stupid, stupid.

I am going mad trying to go live on my new site, but I can't go live now because the licence banner is still there. Why did you not say it would take god know how long to clear it.

I have gone through trying to clear the banner for 3 hours now.

I would stronly suggest that QT tell people in the licence secion that it would take however long to clear this, I did not know it was not instant

The notice goes away immediately when you follow the steps outlined above to register your copy of X-Cart.

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

It's always come off instantly for me. But only if you provide the exact correct URL. So if you have a dev version in:
http://mydomain.com/dev

Then you need to use that entire URL for the license location, then hit register and it comes off immediately. Now, if you decide to move it out of "dev" and into the root to go live, you can just change the URL in X-Cart Support Desk after you go live.

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

I had a situation where the license would not clear. It involved a distribution that had been downloaded from the website as opposed to the distribution from the file area of my help desk. As soon as we used the distribution from the help desk, it worked fine. It could have been something else that fixed it, but when we started over with the help desk distribution, every thing worked fine.

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

Just one thing to note if it's not in your root and in a folder IE:

FOLDER Don't use this:
http://mysite.co.uk/shop/

MAKE SURE it's (Without the forward slash at the end)
http://mysite.co.uk/shop

Re: Remove Evaluation Notice?

Well thats all well and good, logged into licences and updated the reistered URL I did that no proiblem. However the evaluation still appeared on my home dev copy (which, as the licence states, I am allowed to run)

Solution? simple....
open evaluation.tpl in skin1/customer and change the boolean eq to neq

I still get evaluation in in the admin woindow but i can live with that.
