Any X-Payments/X-Cart Processors offer Card Account Update service?

We are trying to offer our customers a credit card processing option through either X-Payments or X-Cart that supports the relatively new card account updating service offered by VISA/MC.

This service is very important for subscription-based businesses as it 'fixes' cards that would otherwise be declined for bad expiration date & it automatically updates card data when VISA/MC decide to change millions of account numbers due to breach (Home Depot/Target for example).

Worldpay now offers this service to some clients, but it is not included in their direct API link with X-Payments.

Does anyone in this forum know of a card processing option available through X-Cart or X-Payments that does support this feature?

Thanks!

Hi Bryan,

Actually we have plans to add support for such service in one the future X-Payments updates. This should be implemented through payment gateway APIs for each gateway needed. What Worldpay integration do you use in X-Payments? E4(SM)?

Thanks Alex,

That's GREAT news for anyone with a subscription business on X-Cart!

I am still wrestling with Worldpay US to integrate what they call their "direct API", which is apparently the method supported by X-Payments currently.

PayPal & Authorize.net are the two other viable payment processing services we can use with our custom "wine club" application built on X-Cart/X-Payments. Currently we have Authorize.net working, but they don't seem to offer as good of a deal for our clients.

Of these three, which method do you think you will update first to offer card account update service via X-Payments? And what approx timeframe do you foresee...this summer, this year, next year or???

Also, will you be in Chicago for IRCE next month? I am thinking of flying out so I can meet you & your team in person. We've been working together for 10 years now!

Thanks as always for your help...

Re: Any X-Payments/X-Cart Processors offer Card Account Update service?

It is a good question what payment gateway to start with. PayPal is definitely #1 but I am not sure if they support this functionality.

We will start adding this new service for major gateways first where we support tokenization so subscriptions are possible.

This change is definitely not going into v2.2 we are going to release by the end of the month so my ETA is "this year" in 2.3 or 2.4.

Yes, I am going to IRCE this year, see http://blog.x-cart.com/X-Cart-Team-at-IRCE-2015-Chicago-June-02-04.html

But I think you might be interested in joining us at the US road trip we are planning this year in September - see http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=71554

I see you are from CA, USA and we are planning to visit SFO or LA during the trip.

What are the issued you faced to? Is there anything I can help you with?

Also, let's just ask Worldpay US to provide us with their tech docs about the card updating feature. I'll include it into v2.3 plan.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your help!

> The problem we're continuing to have with Worldpay/X-Payments integration is that we haven't been able to get the credentials needed to test this integration inside X-Payments. The credentials needed are shown in the attached screenshot. Worldpay was insisting we're supposed to get test credentials from you. Now they say they're working on getting us a developer account and the credentials we need... If you can think of any way to help, I'm open to your suggestions!

> I have confirmed my travel plans to Chicago & will be stopping by the X-Cart booth on Wed June 3rd @ IRCE. I'm looking forward to meeting your team in person!

Well, I think Worldpay account credentials are to be provided by Worldpay not by us for obvious reason. Looks like there is some misunderstanding at Worldpay.
Our integration just uses their API and credentials they provide to merchants.

Yes, I have the contact you introduced me to last time. I'll let him know about your struggle to get an account.

Re: Any X-Payments/X-Cart Processors offer Card Account Update service?

Hi Alex,

FYI I've been investigating X-Payments compatible processors from my client's point of view & have now ruled out Worldpay as an option I'd recommend. Their 3-year commitment with an early termination fee is not compatible with the way we do business.

Further evaluation of which compatible processors/gateways support both tokenization and the new "card update" feature seems to narrow the field to Chase Paymentech, which thankfully receives high marks as a payment processor.

So if you're still deciding which X-Payments connector to update first with "card update" feature, my vote now goes to Chase Paymentech.

See you in Chicago...
