Product Attributes csv import question
Hi all,
When importing product-attributes.csv, there is a column called "default". I have products with product specific attributes such as size. I uploaded a product with 3 sizes. I set "default" column for all sizes to no, then tried all to yes, then tried an upload with 1 yes and others no... and in all cases there is no difference. They all upload as product specific attributes, and no difference in the variant set as default. What is the purpose or effect of the "default" column in this import? Thanks for any insight! |
Re: Product Attributes csv import question
Hi there.
The 'default' column determines whether the attribute value in question is set as default or not. There can only be one default value per attribute. I just tested this on my 5.3.5.5 installation, works just fine. Can you upload a sample of your CSV for review? |

Hi Alex,
I see how it works now. It sets the default attribute when there are NO variants defined for the product. So my question is: for products WITH variants and if I need to upload the sheet to eg reorder the attributes, should I put all "No" or all "Yes" for the default column for the various attributes (eg size), because if I put nothing it says: "Wrong format of "default" value (). This should be "Yes" for product-specific attributes or "No" for global attributes" |

There should be one "Yes" value, at least one of the attributes should be set as default. |
