Catalog Module
 

I have a new project that I will be starting soon. There will be no add to cart or check out functions, it's just a catalog, so I am considering using the Catalog module. However there will also be categories that only wholesale customers can see. So I just want to make sure that the Catalog module works with the feature for categories and products to only be viewed by wholesale customers.

As far as I can tell the Catalog module only removes add to cart and checkout capabilities. It doesn't modify in any way any other part of the cart. So everything else should be working the same way whether module is enabled or disabled.

Yes, Catalog module works with the feature for categories and products to only be viewed by wholesale customers.
