Would be good if we have a quick demo either online or video? Easy to explain to our customers rather than i prepare screen shots & how it works etc.

For the cost of 389$, cann't we expect bit more details?

So do we have to buy an x-payments license for every new x-cart license. So now to really use x-cart the cost is about $500.

You do not have to. One X-Payments can be connected to up to 10 stores. Also, if you do not process or transfer somehow credit card details right on your web-site pages you do not need X-Payments.

If we installed the beta version, how do we overwrite that version to install the non-beta version? Do you just overwrite the files or will we have to go through the entire install process again and re-set everything up

But if you are isntalling a single website then you would need both x-cart and x-payments if you want to collect credit cards on your site.

Why is x-payments 3 times the cost of x-cart itself?

Well, we didn't get X-Payments for free from someone. We developed it from scratch and invested a good amount of money.
Also, PA-DSS certification costs are not very low, unfortunately.
We would be glad to lower price of X-Payments but it is the lowest possible at the moment.
E.g. there is no free PA-DSS certified solution on the market now and I can't imagine how it is going to appear. Another example - Magento offers PCI-DSS comliance at $3000 per license. So you can compare.

We can't provide upgrade packs for a PA-DSS certified software. It is a requirement of certification. So you need to install X-Payments anew. Not sure about overwriting, however. You can try to do it in some test environment and if it works for you keep using.
