Possible to Show Specific Categories to Specific Affiliates?

Is it possible to only have specific categories show and remaining not show when a specific affiliate sends an end user to your site?

I have an individual that wants to join affiliates progie, but is big in statuary and wants to only show that product line.

I have two or three categories that would work and those contain subcategories.

The rest would not fit in with their scheme on their site and they do have a lot of traffic.

To top this off, I have the skin_swap mod from Boomer, so I can make their affiliate area look as if it is their own site.

The ability to only show categories pertinent to their site would be terrific.

As it is right now, the only way I can think of doing this is to hardcode the specific categories in their skin_swap area. This way nothing other than those categories would show.

Just thought if available, it would be much easier to do with a small {if} statement than doing hard code in their skin_swap templates.

Not sure if there is a Smarty variable to tell when a link comes from a specific affiliate....

Anyone else done this?

OR, am I going to have to just hardcode the front end tpl files for the skin_swap for this affiliate?

Any luck with this? I have the exact same requirement for an upcoming project.

I don't see any....lol

I guess I will do what I was going to do in the first place. No one else has a better or easier way of doing it or cares to share.

The problem with the "hardcoded skin specific navigation" is that it doesn't prevent customers from finding items that are in the hidden categories via the product search tool.

In the case I am in, I have qn affiliate that wants specific items only.

This means, unless there is an easy eway of doing this other than hard coding, all I can do is load a stock skin file, withouth the added mods, then hard code links to those specific catagories.

Once this is done, then they will have a basic store, but will have the catagories that they choose.

I was hoping for an easier filter solution that could be done wthout all of the hassels.

Maybe it is not possible or over everyones heads. It is mine for the moment. :?
