Paypal Adaptive Payments with Multi Vedor to split funds

Hello,

I work for a startup and we are building our new platform on X-Cart, we have an issue with our Payment flow.

Our website is a marketplace for renting/hiring tools. So anyone can list their tools for hire or find tools they need from other users on the site.

When a user is adding their tools we allow them to set a "Bond" like a deposit on their tool as well as setting their own "Price per day" and "Price per week".

So with our payment flow the "Renter" pays the fee for however long they book the Tool for as well as the "Bond".

ie Owner puts a Hedge Trimmer up for $10 per day and $40 per week with a bond of $40.

Renter requests to rent the Tool for 1 day, so they pay $10 + $40 Bond = $50 total.

What we want to do is to split the rental cost "$10" and the Bond "$40" so that the cost is an instant payment that goes straight to the vendor.

But the Bond of "$40" is held in our PRIMARY RECEIVER account until the Tool is left back un-damaged. The Bond is only pre-authorised so we can capture or void depending on the outcome of the tool being left back in good condition. If there is a dispute between the Owner and the Renter we resolve the issue and capture refund the Bond to the Owner if damage is done to their Tool.

We are wondering if this is possible with the PayPal Adaptive Payments module on X-Cart?

Kind Regards

cussen

Cussen,
I definitely know this is possible, but it is my firm belief that it will take some custom code.
