How to disable anonymous checkout X Cart 5

As the title says I would like to disable for my customers to checkout as guest as this type of checkout does not generate and send out the download links etc which I need to do it later myself. How can I do that ? How can I have my customers to register before they checkout ? thank you

This sounds to me as a bug. Guest users enter their e-mails during checkout, so download links should go to these addresses.

In X-Cart 5 there is no such an option out of the box. But I believe it is possible with a custom mod. Also, you may suggest and vote for the feature at http://ideas.x-cart.com/ - the XC5 dev team uses this system when choosing features for next XC5 versions.

I have xcart 5.2.6 version , not sure if its a bug but its quite annoying as it seems that most of the customers who check out as guest dont get emails with links and if i go into their order under egoods I need to manually click on each link RENEW. Sometimes it happens with registered customers . Where should I look to have this issue resolved if its not a bug ?

Do customers receive other e-mail from the shop? It may be the same problem as other users have with e-mails not being sent for the PayPal method:

The fact that some customers do receive such emails makes me think that the messages are blocked by their mail servers for some reason.
Could you please configure your X-Cart to use SMTP server to send out emails and check if the issue still persists?
Thanks.

I would like to disable anonymous checkout, because I can not operate as customer when someone does this. This single thing really screws me because we have a deposit module. This module enables staff to assist customers that call in and have paid deposits to act on their behalf, but it does not work with anonymous customers.

I want to force all customers to register, does it really matter?

Well now after doing a little bit more research I realize that I can "Register" an Anonymous user and then "Operate as user".

However, this doesn't work with POS transactions. Vast majority of our POS Transactions are done over the phone for full payments or deposits, so as a Sales Admin they cannot "Operate as user". I'll be bring this up with the team working on my Deposit module as well as the POS issues.
