You mean to manage paid downloads?

mlowrey 04-03-2006 04:09 AM

no,

i have allot of hifi equipment, so i want to my clients to have the possible to download a techsheet. most of them are in pdf format.

i have seen allot of small mods in the forum, but that is just a simple field.

i am more looking for a complete/more advanced module for pdf management.

if iam not clear please let me know.

I think most people either use extra fields or hard code the link to the pdf into the description or product template itself. Sounds like you would like the capability to manage the pdfs via the admin area. To my knowledge, a mod like this does not currently exist, but shouldn't be too hard to create for one of the mod writers.

Without hijacking the post - also a good PDF mod would be to automatically email a copy of the persons invoice in PDF format when a order is set to complete (would save a lot of wasted paper and get around some of those customs issues)

Yeah alot of systems now do this.

It really needs to be built into the system, hacking up the order end isn't advisable.

Easiest way is to use extra fields, upload all of your files and enter the URL to the PDF and make that extra field display as a link with some modificaitons to the product.tpl page

If your looking for something similar to the following, feel free to contact us at quote@websitecm.com with specifics on what exactly you want, for a quote on what this would cost:

1) A "PDF Management" link in your admin menu, which transfers you to a PDF Management Page.

2) This page allows you to upload new PDFs via your Admin Section. (Would you want rename/edit/delete capabilities etc.?)

3) In your add/modify product page you have a drop-down menu listing "No PDF" and then the names of all the PDFs you've uploaded. If you select a PDF from the list the download link will appear on the Product Details page.
