Product Questions module for X-Cart 5
 

Hello!

I'm happy to announce one more new module for X-Cart 5 - Product Questions.

In a few words the module enables users to ask questions about products and receive answers from the staff.

Questions along with answers appear on the new "Questions" tab on product pages.

Questions can be public, or private.

Non-registered users can ask questions too (unless disabled by the store administrator).

This is what I call a "must have" module for any shopping cart. If this module is well designed it will release your work and save time from giving to much explanations about your products in emails or phone calls. You can even create your own questions based on discussions with your customers.

Keep going QT and grab frequently IDEAS zone!

Hello!

I'm happy to announce that new versions of Product Questions module are multi-vendor ready now (both 5.1.x and 5.2.x).

The module e-mails questions about a product to the vendor that added the product.

In the back-end vendors can answer questions about their products, and the answers show up with the vendor's name.

Hi!
After buying the module ⌠Product Questions■, we installed in our X-Cart 5 but it gave us an error message and X-Cart stopped working (we have had to re-install 2 times the platform for that reason).
the error message is: ⌠An exception occurred while executing 'INSERT INTO xc_language_labels (name) VALUES (?)' with params ["Ask a question (X)"]: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry 'Ask a question (X)' for key ▒name'"
Could you could help us with a solution to this "fatal error?

We have now updated the module to version 5.2.2
All perfect !!! Problem solved.
Now works great, thank you very much for your help and dedication, thank you we could solve the problem in record time.

Product Questions v5.2.5 has been released.

Changes:
- removed outdated CSS rules that triggered the "iconHelp.png image does not exist" warning in some browsers

I've released the 5.2.6 version of Product Questions module.

This versions has a couple of minor tweaks as follows:
- when you have unanswered questions, an icon appears in the backend menu near the "Questions" and "Catalog" entries
- the default order for questions in the backend is "unanswered questions are at the top"
- when you click on a column to order questions in the backend, it uses the date as the second ordering parameter

Hi,

I notice the option to 'Show the administrator's full name in replies' in the module settings. Where is this string taken from? Is it the name details in whatever the first address is in the address book?

It would be useful if there was an option in the module settings to just specify the text string that would be used for the answers' name.

Hello Phil,

Yes, it is the name from the "address book" of the user answering questions.
Multiple users may anwser questions, so a single setting won't work there (unless they need the same name shown for all their answers).

I'm using the default white crisp template.

The tab for this mod shows up as the deafualt active tab and to the left of the "description", How can I move the "Question" tab the the right and keep the description tab default.

I've checked this on my local 5.3.4.4 installation, and the module's tab appears the last in the list of tabs.
Did you install any module that allows re-arranging the tabs?
