Disable CDseo pro
i am moving to a new server and have migrated successfully. I have not redirected dns yet so i am using an ip address.
However when trying to view the store from the admin section i recieve a message 'Invalid License! The software is not licensed for IP xxx.xxx.xx this prevents me from going any further. I can not get into the module to disable. How do I disable cdseo pro temporarily until i finish config my store and then reenable once the dns prop has been done? i have tried https://www.websitecm.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/52/0/is-it-possible-to-disable-cds...-admin-section but to no avail. Help? xcart 4.6.1 |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
I have to say, any module that does this is not right. No module should be this bold, to prevent the store from functioning because of license issues. Just my opinion.
Have you tried disabling it in phpmyadmin? The module must have a configuration table in the admin. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
i have changed the status = 1 in wcm_cdseo_config table
no change. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
This stuff is a pet peeve of mine. I've lost too many hours of my life screwing with issues like these. I'd check in auth.php or init.php and see if those include references to cdseo. Try commenting out any references you find. Might cause the site to throw an error, but at leadt you would be on the right track. Also reference the install instructions for clues on where it is initialized.
Another solution is to recursively search through the files for references. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
I'm pretty sure that Jon has built a way for you to update your license for a dev store. Check on that and see if you can do that.

Re: Disable CDseo pro
thankyou for your replies.
I was trying to avoid drilling through code and playing sleuth I just thought there would be a simplier way to do this. Well back to wasting hours on xcart. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
status should be 0 and you need to clear XC cache so this direct change to take effect

Re: Disable CDseo pro
Awesome. tanks. worked
forgot about clear cache. doh! |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
Only older versions of CDSEO are licensed on the customer side. New versions are only licensed on the admin section.
You may want to look at upgrading and can add your development site as a secondary domain as well. |

Hi Jon, You may need to revisit this as I have just copied a site over to a new development domain and am locked out due to licence issues. I have a license for the new domain (but not the new ip address as of yet as I ordered it on a weekend) I've modified the modules settings in the database but without access to the admin I am unsure on how to clear the cache. It's a tad frustrating to say the least, it should never lock down a customer side of a store (or the admin for that point - it should not allow you to access the modules without a valid licence though.) Edit I should clarify I am receiving this error for XCMS and clearing templates_C did not help. Clearing car/cache resolved it |

It is difficult to prevent unauthorized access without blocking access as module disabling can be overridden, but we will revisit this. I've processed your license changes now. I typically recommend developing on subdomains i.e. dev.example.com as it avoids licensing issues all together. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
Many thanks for your prompt response with this Jon.
Traditionally I would develop on a sub domain but these are redirected to a live site at the moment so for my next order I'll register the IP address as the primary domain and the ip address as the secondary url and this should avoid this issue. |
Re: Disable CDseo pro
Sounds good. As I mentioned we will revisit whether or not there is a more elegant solution here from the users perspective.
