Has anyone tried this out yet and if so do you have any problems editing templates ?
A file not found error |
.
I get this error when I try to edit a template
Code:
Error! (fresh install) |
I'm getting the same error WITH ALL MY TEMPLATES!
The filea are definitely there. I believe that the upgrade changed the owner and permissions on this and several other files. All of my templates are now set to 666; I normally keep them set to 644. I tried to change the permissions using through SSH and also using WS-FTP and was not able to reset any of the permissions. I also tried to change the permissions using the file manager in Cpanel and again, I was not able to. What a total nightmare...GIVE ME BACK OWNERSHIP OF MY FILES!! ATKOgirl |
Yes I have the same problem (tried to edit meta.tpl)
I just downloaded it though and edited it in editplus and reuploaded ! |
I'm not really oncerned about being able to edit my files; I generally edit outside of the x-cart interface anyway. However, call me a control freak, but I don't like not being able to change the permissions on my files.
I tend to believe that the patch changed ownership to "nobody". ATKOgirl |
I'm getting the same error, fresh install. Is their any fixes for this yet?
|
A new distribution has been posted I see...

If i upgrade from 3.5.4, will it rollback my template changes?
will it affect the mod i added via patch to have items in 20 categories? thanks for your help |

maybe, maybe not. if it tries to update files that you have changed then you will be prompted and given a choice to update those by hand or leave them out. make a backup of your files and have a read up on upgrading if your unsure what your doing |
domspe,
Off subject, but how did you get x-cart to handle items in 20 categories? ATKOgirl |
#1 (on subject) - i do not have upgrade files in my file area - only the full distributive. is this an error on their part or is this the only want to upgrade? anyone got a 3.5.4 -> 3.5.5 upgrade kit in their file area?
#2 (off subject) Quote:
|
I am currently running 3.4.12-gold_upgrade and I do not see an upgrade kit to 3.5 in the file area, just the full distribution, what am I doing wrong ?
|
I upgraded to 3.5.5 from 3.5.4, and now the DB restore from backup doesn't finish loading the page when doing a restore. Apparently it is timing out nearly 3/4 of the way through because Mozilla is giving me a "Document contains no data" error when the progress reaches the stats part of the DB restore. All of a sudden, it just stops showing progress, and I am concerned that it is not completing the restoration of the DB dump.
Anyone else experiencing this? I am using Mozilla 1.7, so I don't know what error might come up with IE. |

How big is your database ? |
Approximately 5mb. Images are all stored in the file system.
|
On the plus side, my long standing bug with X-cart failing to find Perl has been fixed with this release. \:D/
This will make my life much easier for upgrades now that I am not having to take down the live server just so that I can run half auto half manual updates on the linux live server. Thanks to the X-cart team and keep up the good work! :D |
has anyone here upgraded from 3.4.12 (or .13) to 3.5.5 ? If so, how did you do it? thanks
|
Managed to patch ok, had to manually change a few files. Then tried to load site up, and all i got was a blank page.
in config.php i had to disable the loading up of prepare.php as this was causing it. Anyone has had the same problem ? I looked in the prepare.php file and its used to check php versions and stuff like that. |
Quote:
chance are that the include/func.php could not be patched for some reason. If you replace it with a copy from he full 3.5.5 release all will be fine. |
Shan
I was having this same problem with the blank page. I replaced the func.php file from the full install as you suggested and all works well. Thanks for all the help you provide to this forum. Mike |
had you made any changes to your func.php file
I ran a load uf upgrades yesterday and Im sure that file caused problems every time. Maybe theres a problem in this upgrade pack |
In regards to the func.php file:
No I had not made any changes. I was suprised to see it come up on my list of files I had to manually update. I am new to X-Cart so the whole upgrade was a learing experience. On a differenct note, the main reason I upgraded was for the credit card blowfish encryption. Can't for the life of me find out how to use this though. Do you have any experience with this? Mike |
Quote:
No, not looked at it yet, you can switch it on in general settings > security options though |
Once again thank you, thats the push I needed. I looked all over and never saw the secruity settings. Sure enough its right there in broad daylight.
THANKS Mike |

I replaced the func.php file and uncommented out the prepare.php statement in the config file and it still comes up as a blank page. |
Quote:
try flush your templates cache too, run cleanup.php |
Did that - still get a blank page when i uncommented the include line in my config to run prepare.php
What does prepare.php actually do ? |
I don't get a blank page, yay.
however, i am debating weather the patch actually worked or not... it said it did, however it didn't update my VERSION file. any tell-tale signs anyone knows of? |
Some tell-tale signs I noticed, the blowfish encryption is now in admin (not totally understood, but there), the SQL statements were made to my database, no longer get the languages box in the head if there is only one language, and my version was changed.
|
Ends up, the tarball that is in my file area is missing patch_pre.php & patch_post.php
i've DLed a few times, just in case... just doesn't exist - i have a ticket in x-cart as we speak :) I get these errors on a white screen that quickly flips to another screen.... took some fancy finger/mouse work to get the page to stop to copy the error. Here it is in case anyone experiences this problem: Code:
Applying patch. Please be patient... |
I had a problem under 3.5.4 with x-cart not finding perl and OpenSSL. From what I can tell this has been fixed with 3.5.5, but I'm not particularly happy that I had to pay $75 to renew my support license to get this fixed by the techs... and now a few days later this upgrade comes out!!
That aside, has anyone upgraded from 3.5.4 to 3.5.5 without a hitch? I tried it out, and after it looked like everything had been patched I wound up with this fairly nasty error: Quote:
Any clues how to get around this? It generated a blank screen sitewide. I'm quite pleased I managed to restore back to 3.5.4, though. |
Quote:
You need to check if the line below exists in your config.php: @include_once($xcart_dir."/include/blowfish.php"); If not you need to include this. |
xcart cannot find info for summary page in new 3.5.5 install
I am installing a fresh site in 3.5.5 and get the following on the summary page:
Code:
б═Environment components info: my site in 3.4.3 works just fine from another virtual server. Help? |

Thanks. Will do that... just out of curiosity, though... I just noticed that the patch page listed the version as 3.5.5 even after I had restored the files from backup. I figured this was pulled from the xcart_configure table, which means the mysql chnages were finalized, right? I have set the version record back to 3.5.4 so I can reapply the patch to the regular files. Hopefully it won't screw up the db when I try to reapply the patch. |
I upgraded from 3.5.4 to 3.5.5 & I also added @include_once($xcart_dir."/include/blowfish.php"); line in config.php manually.
Still I am getting perl is not found error & none of HTTPS module has been found & paypal disfunctional error too :( Here is the more info Code:
PHP 4.3.4 details >> |
I ran the patch again, and added in:
Quote:
to config.php but it still generated the same error: Quote:
Restored from backup again. I don't seem to be getting much in the way of response from the support team, despite having a couple of tickets open. Anandat, did you get the "Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: ctblowfish" error, too? |
I just commented out that line like this and it's working fine now
#$blowfish = new ctBlowfish(); i hope that doesn't do anything else other then let it work again. jr |
