Can you please tell me:

1) Does this mod based on jQuery ? What is the size of script?
2) Does it support UTF characters text or it's using only images ?
3) This slider can be only run on home page ? or it's possible to run on different category pages with different sliders ?
4) Does it support HTML links ?

Yes, jQuery based, size is about 40k for the slider code.


It's all image based.


You can display the slider wherever you like, but it will be the same wherever you place it.


No, each slide has a hyperlink, that's it.

It's an image slider, but with extra layers for each slide :)

Without going into details, I would love to hear from anyone that has actually successfully installed this on 4.5.5.

After having no good results installing this on our live store, I installed a whole new stock development 4.5.5 system with no mods and a virgin database. I then followed the included directions veeerrryyy carefully - no love.

Hi Carl,

Have you actually got the slider to display on the homepage?
Have you got the slider admin page up and running?

Bear in mind, using the reboot template, install steps 8 and 9 will require you edit these templates...

Phil, the admin side works just fine - both on my live site and on the unmodded stock 4.5.5 admin side.

In both cases the "panel" never shows up on the public side of the site.

As I mentioned above in the last post, I have even gone as far as to create a development sub directory, install a fresh copy of XC 4.5.5, a virgin DB. I have not added on to or modified the dev site at all.

After simply following the install scripts/patch as outlined in the included directions, I have no success.

ok, have you...

- Created at least one slide with layers and enabled it
- Enabled the slider itself

Does this URL display anything? (you can use it to preview the slider even with the slider disabled in the settings) ...

Yes to slide (used your samples), yes to enabled, and no - it does not show anything.

Just so you know, I currently am only attempting this on the virgin XC dev site I made. Not the live store. So I am willing to be the GP on this.

Let me know what to try. I was very carefull on the install to follow the steps. The dev site is not using the reBOOT either - just stock with the stock DB entries and no mods of any kind.

OK - with humble apologies to Phil, we have it functioning. I still am having a couple issues with images not uploading properly as well as the special effects not working in preview or on the front end, but I am confident that Phil and I will get it working.

Basically, you have to be VERY careful about paying attention to modifying the files that are for the EXACT template you are using. In my case, I am using Phil's reBOOT template.

I had to do some hunting and trial placements before I could get it to show.

The only issues I am still dealing with now are the ones I outlined in post #11.

Phill, when I do make the upgrade (I am going to wait at least a month for all the bugs to be discovered), I assume there is something we will need to d/l or patch?

I can't quite get this to work either
The admin works -
and the CSS is showing the div for the slider ... but the images aren't being picked up

Can you post what you did ?

I cant seem to get the images clickable in IE 11, they all work in all other browsers, any ideas please ?
