It's in the root folder: favicon.ico
You'll need ftp access/software to replace that.

Look under your store root directory via an FTP client I use core ftp lite so you would look in public_html/yoursite/xcart folder/favicon.ico

I just renamed mine favicon.ico and therefore did not need to change anything in the file system.

This is helpful. I have created the favicon.ico but am unable to local the correct folder to replace the file. Can you provide additional insight?

Hi,

it is in the main root folder of your xcart installation. If you go through your FTP client to the directory of your xcart store, below all the folders, halfway down the file list you'll find the favicon file

clear XC cache or browser cache.

access direct link like this: www.yourstore.com/favicon.ico and check what icon you see. the old one or the new one? if it is old just press F5 and check again.

Did you leave the old one there? If so remove it and rename your favicon from whatever to favicon.ico that should do the trick

I tried to copy it over the file. I will try again by deleting first. Thank you. I appreciate all the help that I receive here!

Still no luck. My favicon flashed on my favorites bar for a moment but has never shown up in the address bar. I will keep trying.

Use your browser to see the source code of the page. For example this page on forum has a favicon. Looking over the source code you will find like this:

<LINK rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="new_xcart_images/statusicon/xcart_favicon.ico">

Write on a paper the link and check again with an FTP software. Note that out of the box XC has only one favicon in root directory. If you or other person did a customization, this is the main reason it is not working in your case.

This is a very basic situation. If you do not solve it give us a link to check your favicon location.

Here is what I have. I did copy the file over again via FTP.

I did find a second favicon at /var/www/atmail
