Sure that would be fine :) I dont know how accurate this list is but it is a good guideline on how to use email to sms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways Asking your cell provider would be the sure bet. |

When you say "monitoring" are you referring to just a ping check, an HTML check, a MySQL check, a specific text check or combination of all of the above? Also, how often are the checks and how are they being performed - server side push, client side request? How might this affect site performance or potential firewall blocks due to too many checks within a period? How often are the checks? Every Minute, 5 minutes, hour? "periodic" is too vague of an answer.

actualy, it looks like the time interval is answered on the product description page - http://www.x-cart.com/extensions/modules/monitoring.html (every 15 minutes for a home page check and every 5 minutes for ping and HTTP response)

The X-Monitoring module makes a request and all other operations are performed on our server. So I installed XC 4.6.0 few days ago for testing purposes. X-Monitoring modules was active after installation (or maybe I turned it on/off for testing). Since then I am getting an email every day that the X-Monitoring service cannot connect to the module....

I understand this is part of what the module does - to inform of issues with the site - but this email doesn't tell me there is a problem with the site but that it cannot connect with the module. Well maybe this was my intention - to not use the service. Anyone thought of that? I have no way of turning this emails off.... |

Do you mean that you have disabled the module in X-Cart admin backend and still get email notifications? If so, then yes it looks like a bug. I'll check it and get back to you soon.

You know this is just an internal copy and even if service is on it will not be able to monitor it and the connection to outside world is limited... I still receive the emails from the service but maybe you just stopped it from your server...
Anyway I though reporting it so you guys can check if it is a bug or not with the service or XC version. In the next few days I may again switch it on/off just to see what happens and if it will turn it on/off on your side |

I know this may not be a solution for everyone but why not just disallow all internal IP's on your end so the service doesn't serve them? |

did the receiving email even when module is off bug get fixed?
my new 4.6 install at http://dermaenaturalskincare.com.au/store/ is also sending me x-monitor emails even though the module is switched off also in the Manual it says x-monitoring can be un-installed via http://dermaenaturalskincare.com.au/store/install-xmonitoring.php but thgis gives a 404 error |

As a temp solution, we have made some extra/manual changes in the monitoring service configuration related to this web-site: 192.168.0.50 Now, it should stop sending emails related to this web-site. Anyway, please monitor your incoming emails, let us know if you still get emails regarding this web-site. Meantime, we are investigating the issue currently, to find out why the actual source of the issue and proper/permanent fix. |

we did not install the x-monitoring module and every day we get email saying:

I have 2 different customers, with 2 different servers, where I installed a fresh copy of x-cart 4.6.0.
Even though I disabled X-Monitoring on both sites, they both keep getting the error notifications as described by the others above. I also tried updating the e-mail address in the module configuration for one of them. No results - they STILL receive it. Please fix this bug urgently! |
